Jerseyman Island is covered with mature softwood forest interspersed with elevated wetlands, open grassy areas, and vibrant small ponds.

Due to natural barriers, islands can contain plants and animals that have either evolved separately from mainland populations, or have suffered less human impact due to limited access.

The waters surrounding the island support the local lobster fishery, as well as a variety of waterfowl, including Ducks, Terns, Cormorants and Gulls.

Jerseyman Island's coast consists of long sweeps of beach, sheltered coves, rocky points and dramatic ocean-side headlands, creating many varied micro climates.
